Having lost the C9N-CC system to GoonSwarm earlier in YC110, Stain Empire strategists evidently felt that the pressure of GoonSwarm being under attack from both BOB and Against ALL Authorities altered the balance in favour of a bid to take back the system. Consequently, early to mid December saw continued efforts by Stain Empire to contest sovereignty in this strategically-important system.
With a number of large battles taking place in the fortnight, the climactic struggle appears to have been the battle of 110.12.13, in which over 740 ships and capsules were destroyed in total, with some 175 battleship accounted for among the losses. Significantly, a GoonSwarm starbase was destroyed in the course of this engagement, while Stain Empire starbases that had been established in system remained intact.
Forces as diverse as KIA Alliance, Legion of xXDeathXx, Pandemic Legion, Red Alliance, United Legion came to the aid of GoonSwarm. On the attacking side, Against ALL Authorities, COVEN and Systematic Chaos were the main contingents aiding Stain Empire's bid to reconquer the system. Losses in ships and capsules among the attackers reached approximately 285, while the defenders took losses of over 405 ships and capsules. Many other corporations and alliances sent smaller contingents, accounting for further losses, and a higher degree of 'friendly fire' has been observed in the data by CONCORD analysts. The attacking forces were able to advance their goals in the wake of this battle and by 110.12.16 the system had switched to Stain Empire sovereignty.
